First sighting since 1956. The last sighting before that was in 52. Before that there were plenty. Especially before the 1900s. As time went on and populations grew sightings began to dwindle. I assume this is similar to the mothman sightings. Though, the evidence to confirm the existence of mothman is unconvincing. Similarly, the evidence surrounding the jacklope and the existence of the jackalope is just as preposterous. You look up images online and you're faced with poorly crafted photoshop imagery. There are plenty of theories about the jackalope. For example, the antlers on the jackalope have the ability to grow and shrink at rapid pace. In the day, the antlers sink back into the skull of the jackalope and at night they spring back out. Why this would be doesn't make sense which is why I don't necessarily subscribe to this theory. Another theory being similar to the native stories of the Bigfoot - the jackalope are beings both part of the physical and non physical realm with a deeper understanding of the world than any of us can realize. This theory I subscribe to more but still, for what? Does the jackalope harbor the ability to communicate or are they beyond communication? What need do they have to traverses multiple plains of existence? In the case of the Bigfoot I understand (they take our women and children to breed) but the jackalope have no need for this. Have you ever seen a rabbit breed with a human? It is unlikely if not impossible. Perhaps they are breeding with deer or deer adjacent creatures but again I don't see this possible as most deer are quite large and the jackalope is still the size of a rabbit. Whatever the case is, the jackalope is an entity that seems difficult to capture on camera. I assume it is because they are quick and privy and again, potentially linked to another dimension or plain of existence.
Back to the purpose of this Journaling… the first known or recorded appearance since the late 50s. With the rise of tik tok culture and the fake out videos I've seen people post, I assumed this would have been the medium that would capture the attention of the public regarding the existence of these creatures but no it wasn't that. The post came from an online forum I've been following since the early days of the internet.
